Jesus – Uncovering the Life, Teachings, and Relevance of a Religious Revolutionary

by Marcus J. Borg - 2006

Again this year we will delve into the life of Jesus as we move toward Easter and seek to follow “the way” of Jesus.  Whether you have read Borg previously or not at all, this book offers new insights into whom Jesus was and is for us today.  Participants will read 2 chapters each week in preparation for the class discussion.

Book Club

Gilbert travels to Italy, India and Indonesia as she seeks to find healing and meaning in her life. Book Group meets Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00pm.

Living the Questions 2 –Living the Questions DVD/discussions -

You are invited to challenge your worldviews and understanding of the Divine by asking faith questions.  Answers are not as important as raising the questions with which we need to wrestle to come into our own faith understandings. This DVD based series features a variety of clergy and theologians who look at the mysteries of faith and life, raise theological questions and generate dialogue.

Lenten Grace Group                                            Friday Mornings -10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Grace – what is it? how does one “get it?”  how does one grow in it?  We hear a lot about grace, but many of us are unclear as to its meaning and importance.  As United Methodists, we know that our founder, John Wesley, spoke and wrote about a broad spectrum of grace.  Using a video, biblical references, and brief paragraphs from some of John Wesley’s sermons, we will explore and perhaps experience the meaning of grace.  No preparation needed.   Facilitator: Gretchen Fogo

More Connections

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Members prayerfully hand knit or crochet shawls that are given, anonymously, to a person who is in need of blessings or solace. Shawls are also presented to each infant baptized at MUMC. New members are always needed. If you are interested in joining in, please call Donna Albert at 952-938-9598. If you or a loved one wish to be wrapped in prayer with a shawl, please contact either Rev. Ken or Rev. Gretchen and let your wishes be known. This spirit filled ministry touches both the recipient as well as the maker of the shawl.
