Advent Calendar Quilt Instructions

This project is to share our creative gifts with one another telling the story of Jesus’ birth in a way that is both visual and scriptural. I am encouraging individuals and families to share this experience together. There is plenty of time to get to know the scriptural passage, make a design, and make a few mistakes along the way. I hope that you take the time to enjoy in this form of storytelling with me.

This year, each square will hang individually in order in the Office Wing Gallery. The following year, it will be put together in a way that allows the children (and adults) to interact with it.

Chose a scriptural passage/square and sign up with Cynthia.
Make a finished square of 10” with a ¼” seam line.
Materials: Use cotton for seam allowance for easy joining. Otherwise, feel free to use silks, ribbons, satins, velvet, etc…
Types of squares: Squares can be done by needlepoint, cross-stitch, appliqué, piecing, fabric paints, beading, whatever is your preference. This is your chance to play.
Return to Cynthia no later than November 1, 2008.
