Scattered Attention

Series: Beneath the Surface

August 06, 2023 | Rev. Carrie Binnie

Passage: Matthew 13:1-23

The Parable of the Sower is one many of us have heard time and time again. And yet, this parable, like others, resembles a seed that falls afresh with new understanding each time it’s scattered. How might it take root in your life today? And how might it compel you to cultivate the soil around you so that the gospel might bear fruit in the life of someone else?

Series Information

Have you ever read the words of Jesus and thought, “I get it; I know what he’s saying,” only to second guess yourself as you acknowledge, “At least, I think I do…?” Perhaps your confidence unravels further, “Well, maybe I don’t…” and you ultimately wonder, “What does he mean?” You’re not alone! Let’s be honest, at times, the parables and teachings of Jesus are loaded. Join us for the next few weeks as we go beneath the surface in search of what Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew might have to say to us today.
