WHAT IS THE CHOSEN?
Minnetonka United Methodist Church will be launching an 8-week, all-church study of season 4 of The Chosen. As stated on the official webpage of The Chosen, the show "is a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus Christ, seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings."
The Chosen is based on the stories of Jesus Christ, as shared in the Gospels and developed with artistic imagination. This means that some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed and character backstories and dialogue have been added to support the biblical text. You are encouraged to have your Bible in hand as you watch and discuss each episode, as the show is intended to supplement your life and study of Scripture.

What's Expected of Participants?
- View one episode each week in advance of your small group's gathering.
- Participate in a weekly small group in person and/or on Zoom to discuss the episode assigned for the week.

How will the small groups work?
Small groups will meet at different times and places (including Zoom) for an hour. When you sign-up, you will be able to select a group based on the day/time/location that works best for you.
What if I want to participate but none of the small groups will be meeting at a time that works for me?
You are welcome to watch the episodes on your own. Talk to Pastor Carrie if you would like to be partnered for conversation with another person.
I know someone who might want give this study a try—is it for MUMC people only?
Absolutely not! Any and all persons are invited and encouraged to participate!
