Series: I Didn’t Learn THAT in Sunday School

January 16, 2022 | Rev. Carrie Binnie

Many of us grew up hearing and believing that we were born into sin as a result of humanity’s fall from grace. We were taught that Adam and Eve’s “original sin” was passed on from one generation to the next, essentially embedding a sinful nature in our DNA. But does God understand the human condition that way? Maybe it’s time to return to Scripture and consider an alternate theology–one based not on sin, but on goodness and blessing.

Series Information

“Because we’ve always done it that way” isn’t just a phrase we hear about how a church operates or the traditions they uphold. Something similar could often be said about traditional interpretations of Scripture or long held beliefs. Beginning January 16, we will be exploring biblical passages and theological concepts that have often been understood from one perspective… until now.
