A Season of Renewal

Series: A Dysfunctional Family

May 19, 2024 | Rev. Carrie Binnie

Passage: Acts 2:1-21

Today, we celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the Christian Church. But the Pentecost story isn’t just a story about an event that occurred a long time ago. It’s also about the power of the Holy Spirit and the mission of the Church here and now! From the outcomes of the recent General Conference session of The United Methodist Church to the hearts of the students getting confirmed this morning, the breath of the Holy Spirit is igniting a season of renewal in our midst!

Series Information

Is your family a bit dysfunctional at times? You’re not alone! Starting all the way back in the book of Genesis, we see family dynamics that carry forward dysfunctional traits across generations. Despite this reality, God still chose these people, our ancestors of the faith, to be God’s people. As we seek to learn from the ancient stories and apply our learnings to life today, we’ll discover a hope grounded in the unmerited grace of our Creator.
