Series: Broken Yet Beloved
January 28, 2024 | Rev. Carrie Binnie
Passage: Ruth 1:1-18
One in every six adults who works part time or full time also cares for a loved one. Today, we’ll continue our sermons series on mental health and focus on caregiver support. Karen Pauly, founder of Caring for Nancy, will also speak to us about her own journey as a caregiver, the growing caregiver population and setting ourselves up for success to care for our loved ones. Together, we’ll explore one of the Bible’s caregivers, Ruth, and consider the role of the church in offering caregiver support.
Series Information
One in every four U.S. adults experiences mental illness each year. Mental health is a subject of great importance yet is too often brushed under the rug by society, family, friends and the Church. This winter, we’ll examine stories from the Bible related to mental health and develop a tool kit for personal use. Join us as we ponder how we might proactively begin the New Year with a greater awareness of and compassion for those affected by mental health challenges.
