How Long?

Series: Broken Yet Beloved

January 14, 2024 | Rev. Carrie Binnie

Passage: Psalms 40:1-17

Grief. We all encounter it at some point in our lives. And while most of us associate grief with loss of life, grief can arise from any type of loss (loss of a relationship, loss of employment or house, anticipated loss as a result of a medical diagnosis, etc.). Wherever there is grief, there are questions: Where is God in times of grief? How can we address our grief in healthy ways? What can we do to best support people who are grieving? Join us as we consider the role of Scripture and lament Psalms in the grieving process and begin to name the brokenness in our lives.

Series Information

One in every four U.S. adults experiences mental illness each year. Mental health is a subject of great importance yet is too often brushed under the rug by society, family, friends and the Church. This winter, we’ll examine stories from the Bible related to mental health and develop a tool kit for personal use. Join us as we ponder how we might proactively begin the New Year with a greater awareness of and compassion for those affected by mental health challenges.

Sermon Notes

You can add your own personal sermon notes along the way. When you're finished, you'll be able to email or download your notes.
